Well, yet again, this week didn't go as planned. But that's life, right? As I've discussed many times, I've been dealing with some health/digestive issues most of my life, but especially the last six months or so. Last Wednesday I finally made it to a doctor and, to my unhappy surprise, she immediately scheduled me… Continue reading GMST Challenge – Week 6: A Surprise Surgery

Getting My Sh*t Together – Week 5: Sh*t’s Getting Real
I've made it to week 5! Eventually I'll actually start posting on Sundays again, like I'm supposed to! Although I'm still dealing with health issues and haven't been able to journal/plan every day, I have still managed to keep up with tasks scheduled weekly and have been checking my calendar each day. Some days I… Continue reading Getting My Sh*t Together – Week 5: Sh*t’s Getting Real
Getting My Sh*t Together Challenge – Week 3/4 Update
**This update is five days late....so it's going to be covering Week THREE and FOUR.** There's been a slight hold-up, if you will, on the "Getting My Sh*t Together" Challenge. For the past five months, I've been dealing with some health issues off and on -- but mostly on. In about mid-December and through the… Continue reading Getting My Sh*t Together Challenge – Week 3/4 Update
Getting My Sh*t Together Challenge – Week 1 Check In – Shi*t Got Done!
So, it’s only been a week. And good habits are not established in just a week. There is still a good possibility that after doing this for a few weeks -- or even a few months to be honest -- I will lose my excitement over planning and organizing and fall off the “get my sh*t together” wagon. I don’t want to create a false sense of accomplishment for completing a week of my challenge, but I’m still pretty optimistic I’ll be able to succeed. It also helps that my daily affirmation for the month is “I believe in myself and my ability to succeed.”
Going Gluten and Dairy Free
I recently cut gluten and dairy out of my diet. This may be a very controversial decision and there are a lot of loaded opinions for and against it, but it was a decision I made for myself, based on my own body. I am not a nutritionist or dietician or certified in anything, so… Continue reading Going Gluten and Dairy Free
A Little SoulCandy (Skincare)
I've been dealing with acne for just about as long as I can remember. At least since 5th or 6th grade, for sure. Just about everyone can identify with the embarrassment and discomfort acne brings, but when you have had it for your entire life, it really drags on your self-esteem as well. I've tried… Continue reading A Little SoulCandy (Skincare)
Healthy Meals for the Whole Family
I have always fed my son more healthy than I would eat myself, but I could always do better. Thankfully, I think since I started him out with healthy foods, he really likes a lot of really healthy things that most children don't, such as broccoli, edamame, carrots, pretty much all fruit, whole grain breads… Continue reading Healthy Meals for the Whole Family
Join in the Shred!
As everyone knows by now, I have been participating in the Summer Shred and Extreme Summer Shred through Bobbi McCormick's blog NHerShoes. This has been an incredible and life-changing experience for me! I have lost 7 pounds so far and will be measuring my inches in about a week, but I can definitely tell my… Continue reading Join in the Shred!
Summer Shred to the Extreme!
So I completed the Summer Shred! I was incredibly proud of myself as this was the hardest I have ever pushed myself when it comes to my health. And in an effort to make this a lifestyle change and not just a fad diet, I have entered the month of June starting the Extreme Summer… Continue reading Summer Shred to the Extreme!
Foraging for Clean Eats
Foraging for Clean EatsWhat is more clean and fresh than wild finds straight from the earth? My cousin, Dana Nahai of One Haute Plate recently wrote an article for Edible Atlanta Magazine about urban foraging. This article is not only extremely insightful, informative and enlightening, it also makes me really hungry and ready to get… Continue reading Foraging for Clean Eats
