I'm not going to lie, it's been so hard. I'm getting tired of having to cook everything from scratch every night after getting home from work. I'm tired of not being able to freely eat out with family and friends. I've missed some good meals because of it. But I've stuck to it, and I'm determined to stick to it until I can go back to the doctor in March for an upper scope and -hopefully- get some more answers.
I recently cut gluten and dairy out of my diet. This may be a very controversial decision and there are a lot of loaded opinions for and against it, but it was a decision I made for myself, based on my own body. I am not a nutritionist or dietician or certified in anything, so… Continue reading Going Gluten and Dairy Free
I've been dealing with acne for just about as long as I can remember. At least since 5th or 6th grade, for sure. Just about everyone can identify with the embarrassment and discomfort acne brings, but when you have had it for your entire life, it really drags on your self-esteem as well. I've tried… Continue reading A Little SoulCandy (Skincare)
There has been a lot of sadness these past few days. There have been terrorist attacks in multiple cities, an earthquake and other natural phenomena, as well as the countless wars that are being carried on throughout our world. A close friend of my family passed away from cancer on Saturday as well, marking a… Continue reading Spreading Peace

I haven't eaten meat for about a month and a half now, so I've been trying to make up some new vegetarian recipes that I will like and that Landon and Adam will like as well. Sometimes I make something that I can just add chicken into for them, but sometimes I make vegetarian meals… Continue reading Experimenting New Recipes
As someone who works out at least 5 times a week, I am often looking for something healthy and clean that will give me good energy to get through my workouts. Some days I'm just pumped and ready to go, but other days, I need a little boost. I talked to some of my good… Continue reading Kick Up the Energy!
There is a new study out that men who skipped breakfast had more chances of having a heart attack. They have been saying for years that people who eat breakfast tend to be healthier and control weight better. It seems to me that breakfast is pretty important (as the saying goes, "Its the most important… Continue reading Eat Breakfast!
As promised, only a week or so later, I am finally giving you the recipe for the "Not So Fried Rice," adapted from the NHerShoes Summer Shred! I have always fed my son more healthy than I would eat myself, but I could always do better. Thankfully, I think since I started him out with healthy foods, he really likes a lot of really healthy things that most children don't, such as broccoli, edamame, carrots, pretty much all fruit, whole grain breads… Continue reading Healthy Meals for the Whole Family
